Bold and Boundless: The Art of Empowered Woman
National Gallery of Art and Malala Fund Present Exclusive Art Fair

LOS ANGELES( April 17, 2023) – The National Gallery of Art is pleased to announce an upcoming art exhibition in collaboration with the Malala Fund, celebrating the talent and creativity of female artists throughout history. The Bold and Boundless art fair will take place at Hauser & Wirth Gallery, from May 7th to May 17th, 2023. The exhibition will provide a platform for both established and emerging female artists in LA to share their stories and connect with audiences who appreciate the depth and beauty of oil painting. Through this exhibition, the NGA aims to acknowledge and popularize the artistic contributions of women from history and encourage the growth and acknowledgment of contemporary female artists.
As a collaboration with the Malala Fund, this exhibition aims to support girls’ education and empowerment. NGA will also provide a platform for Malala Fund for charity donations to help girls’ education and empowerment. Through this exhibition, the National Gallery of Art hopes to inspire visitors to appreciate the works of female artists and contribute to a world where women’s artistic achievements are celebrated and acknowledged.
The artwork on display will cover a variety of themes, from portraits and landscapes to abstract and surreal works, highlighting the diverse perspectives and experiences of female artists from the following three notable periods: Renaissance, 19th century, Modern, and Contemporary Art.
The exhibition will feature 27 pieces of artwork by Mary Cassatt, for free entry to all artists and art lovers. The exhibition will feature a diverse range of styles and subjects, showcasing the unique perspectives and experiences of female artists throughout history. It will include works by prominent female artists, such as Barbara Kruger, Catherine Opie, Jenny Holzer, Lorna Simpson, Sharon Lockhart, Sterling Ruby, Andrea Zittel, and Mary Cassatt. Visitors can view the artwork on display and purchase artwork from local female artists.
